BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Community Building

April 17, 2024 @ 7:00 pm

 

 

Attending board members: Sid Dev, Sue Aldred, Matt Benecke, Jill Dzekunskas, Julius Maes, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Absent: Emali Porter

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

 

Guest – Scott Robbins from the Bureau County Animal Control. Discussion of animal control in Neponset and the cost to have Bureau County come to Neponset to pick up loose dogs.

 

Guest – Yvonne Jannie from Trico Equestrian Center. Discussion of pony rides on Neponset Picnic Days. She will be in the park Saturday morning, June 8th.

 

March Board Minutes, March Treasurers’ Report, and April Invoices payable

Motion to approve Sid Dev, 2nd Julius Maes, roll call vote all ayes.

IDOT has approved us to transfer $46,000 from Motor Fuel Tax Fund and $14,000 from Rebuild Illinois Fund to General Fund. IDOT advised closing Rebuild Illinois fund and transferring the balance to Motor Fuel Tax Fund.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – Sid Dev made a motion to approve $1,500 for the necessary water tools. 2nd Jill Dzekunskas, roll call vote all ayes. There is a letter going out to the residents explaining the meter replacement grant. Work replacing meters will begin in May. A letter about the meter replacements will be going out to residents.

Community Events & Building Permits – Emali Porter –We are working on Neponset Picnic Days.

Police & Ordinances - Sue Aldred – The battery in the police car needs to be replaced, we also need to implement a control switch for the battery/siren.

Garbage & Emergency Plan – Jill Dzekunskas – Garbage truck had hydraulic issues during clean-up days. Called Neponset Truck & Tractor to get repaired.

Streets – Matt Benecke –Waiting on a quote from Ace in the Hole to complete road work.

Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Changed oil and filters on tractor and mower.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Budget – Discussion on budget

Shelter in the Park & IDNR Grant – Waiting on DECO, and archeology report test results.

Housing Rehab Round 2 –Waiting on DECO. We will be doing a point system again. We are approved to receive $650,000.

Electronic Sign – Waiting for reply from BNSF.

Discussion on Neponset Pride Donation of $250, All Ayes.
