BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Community Building

March 20, 2024 @ 7:00 pm

 

 

Attending board members: Sue Aldred, Emali Porter, Matt Benecke, Jill Dzekunskas, Julius Maes, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Absent: Sid Dev

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

 

February Board Minutes, February Treasurers’ Report, and March Invoices payable

Motion to approve Matt Benecke, 2nd Sue Aldred, roll call vote all ayes.

Add: $542.20 Bureau County Clerk – General Fund.

Correction: Since we have not received the money from Win Stoller, we will transfer $75,000 from General Fund to Water Fund.

In order to pay for the water meters, money will be moved or received from the following accounts to the Water Operating Account: Win Stoller grant $75,000, Miscellaneous account $60,000, Meter Replacement account $11,500, Village Clean-up fund $28,620, and Water Maintenance account $15,000. Total amount $190,120.

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – Nothing to report.

Community Events & Building Permits – Emali Porter –No Permits. Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch March 30, 2024.

Police & Ordinances - Sue Aldred – Sue Aldred made a motion to approve Ordinance #794 to  abolish the AVT, UTV, Golf Cart Ordinance. 2nd Jill Dzekunskas, roll call vote, all ayes.

Garbage & Emergency Plan – Jill Dzekunskas – Garbage truck had electrical issues. Called Neponset Truck & Tractor to get repaired.

Streets – Matt Benecke – Will be contacting Ace in the Hole to complete road work. Reserving 75 Ton salt for next winter.

Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Nothing to report.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Budget – Discussion on budget

Shelter in the Park & IDNR Grant – Nothing to report.

Housing Rehab Round 2 –Signed paperwork.

Electronic Sign – Paperwork has been mailed.

 

Matt Benecke made a motion to move into Executive Session, 2nd Jill Dzekunskas. Motion carried.

Matt Benecke made a motion to return to regular session, 2nd Jill Dzekunskas. Motion carried.

Matt Benecke made a motion to give the hourly employees a raise, 2nd Jill Dzekunskas, roll call vote, all ayes.
