BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Community Building
August 16, 2023
Attending board members: Sue Aldred, Matt Benecke, Jill Dzekunskas, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Absent: Sid Dev and Julius Maes, and Emali Porter
Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
Guest Speakers: Discussion about burn days.
July Board Minutes, July Treasurers’ Report, and August Invoices payable
Motion to approve Matt Benecke, 2nd Jill Dzekunskas, roll call vote all ayes.
Sue Aldred made a motion to have Mandy check interest rates and decide where to place the CD. 2nd Jill Dzekunskas. Roll call vote, all ayes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – We believe the leak at the sewer plant was found. It may not cost as much to repair as originally discussed.
Community Events & Building Permits – Emali Porter –Nothing to report.
Police & Ordinances - Sue Aldred –. Checking in to repair the siren on the police car. Two (2) residents have removed vehicles. There is a court date of 8/25/23 for three (3) residents.
Garbage & Emergency Plan – Jill Dzekunskas – Nothing to report.
Streets – Matt Benecke – Ace in the Hole has done street work.
Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Nothing to report.
Finance, Insurance, License & Fees – Dave Mueller – No budget report due to switching software programs.
MAYOR’S REPORT
Shelter in the Park – Account balance $33,439.97. Golf Outing September 23rd. Get your teams together.
Electronic Sign – Waiting on BNSF to return the call.
Housing Rehab Round 2 – We received $650,000. $65,000 per household. There will be another round of applications coming soon. We will know whose houses will be worked on by spring.
IDNR Grant – We signed the paperwork to start the process on this grant.
