BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Community Building
October 19, 2022
Attending board members: Barb Safiran, Sue Aldred, Sid Dev, Matt Benecke, Mandy Donovan, Julius Maes, and Mayor Dave Mueller.
Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
September Board Minutes, September Treasurers’ Report, and October Invoices payable
Motion to approve Sid Dev, 2nd Julius Maes, roll call vote all ayes.
Barb Safiran made a motion to 2% on Sewer Bon, 2nd Matt Benecke, roll call vote all ayes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – Lagoon at Sewer Plant is leaking water. Self-Report to EPA testing is clean and uncontaminated. EPA stated this is one of the cleaner sewer plants, thanks to Markus Chapman.
Community Events & Building Permits – Barb Safiran –No Permit. Halloween is ready. Will possibly have a trivia night again.
Ordinances and Garbage Collection – Sue Aldred –. 72 dogs are registered. A lot of dogs aren’t vaccinated.
Police, Emergency Plan – Mandy Donovan – Working on Bureau County and Neponset agreement.
Streets – Matt Benecke – We have reserved 50 tons of salt for this winter
Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Everything is working well.
Finance, Insurance, License & Fees – Dave Mueller – Monthly budget discussion.
MAYOR’S REPORT
Shelter in the Park - $30,735.97 in the account. The play date brought in $2,000.
Housing Rehab Round 2 – Ready to submit in December
Nextlink Contract – Working on negotiation with New Net Wave and Nextlink.
Sidewalk Ordinance- Sid made a motion to approve the ordinance, 2nd Sue Aldred, roll call all ayes.
Animal Ordinance- working on it.
Electronic Sign – Martin Engineering has reimbursed us for the sign.
IML- Insurance renewal – Barb Safiran made a motion to approve and pay in full the insurance bill. 2nd, Sid Dev, roll call vote, all ayes.
