BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Community Building
July 19, 2023
Attending board members: Sue Aldred, Matt Benecke, Jill Dzekunskas, Emali Porter, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Absent: Sid Dev and Julius Maes.
Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
Emali Porter was sworn in as Trustee for the Village of Neponset.
July Board Minutes, July Treasurers’ Report, and August Invoices payable
Motion to approve Sid Dev, 2nd Sue Aldred, roll call vote all ayes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman – Discussion on EPA loan forgiveness information. Will be passing this on to Shug at NCICG.
Community Events & Building Permits – Emali Porter –2 Solar Permits.
Police & Ordinances - Sue Aldred –. Working on ordinances and ordinance violations, letters to residents. The squad car goes in for an oil change and is to be checked over on Monday.
Garbage & Emergency Plan – Jill Dzekunskas – Nothing to report.
Streets – Matt Benecke – Matt Benecke made a motion to spend $25,000 for spray on Main, Maple, N 4th, N 5th, and possibly Poplar. 2nd Jill Dzekunskas. Roll call vote, all ayes.
Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Garbage Truck going in for inspection at Hodges 66 in Kewanee.
Finance, Insurance, License & Fees – Dave Mueller – No budget report due to switching software programs.
MAYOR’S REPORT
Shelter in the Park – Waiting on DECO.
Electronic Sign – Waiting on BNSF to return the call.
Housing Rehab Round 2 –Residents will be notified when the next step is going to start.
IDNR Grant – Work will be starting next spring.
